Sre Monitoring Engineer
As a member of the team, you will be working with top CS talent on a mix of best-of-breed open source and in-house developed solutions and commercial third-party products that provide availability monitoring, infrastructure capacity and performance, application monitoring, automated notification and service management integration.

The SRE Monitoring Team is responsible for developing and maintaining the application monitoring platform used by application development, testing and production support teams for more than 200 different applications. Our objective is to reduce MTTR by providing a standard platform and introducing new tools and best-practices. The SRE Monitoring Team members are located in UK, Poland and India. We are falling under the Investment Bank Data and Technology department and serving customers across the Bank. The role of SRE Monitoring Engineer requires a mix of technical and organizational skills, including but not limited to:
- Hands-on approach to problem solving by applying creative, logical and analytical skills.
- Understanding of ITIL and the support practices of Incident, Problem and Change Management.
- Understanding and working experience with software delivery methodologies and principles like Agile and DevOps.
- Sense of ownership and accountability towards the deliverables.
- Outstanding interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
- Flexibility and adaptability with an ability to multi-task and can-do attitude.
Essential skills and qualifications:
- Proven experience in working with Windows/Linux system.
- Excellent scripting ability, especially in the area of system management tools.
- Basic knowledge of Oracle, MS SQL or Sybase DBs.
- Practical knowledge of Git and Python.
Nice to have skills:
- Knowledge of Jenkins, Apache Kafka, Grafana.
- Knowledge of Geneos, AppDynamics or any equivalent application monitoring tool.
- Knowledge of Tibco EMS.
- Working experience with Docker and Open Shift.
- Software packaging knowledge for Linux (RPM) and/or Windows (MSI).
- Experience in administration or maintaining of application monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS or GCP.
- Tools: JIRA, Confluence, EXCEL, PowerPoint, ITIL tools like Service Now.
