Junior Java Engineer

Join us as an engineer within the IT Strategy and Architecture Group and help us to develop and support the bank’s strategic developer innovation platform which is used by over 30,000 users. We focus on fixing real life problems and then share these solutions with our large user base, some of our current projects focus on Public Cloud, CaaS enablement, Change Management Automation and Infrastructure as Code.

Candidates who can demonstrate the majority of the skills below would be ideally placed for this role:

• Knowledge about designing and developing web applications using frameworks such as Spring Boot and Angular.
• Knowledge around software development tools Jira, Git, Jenkins, Terraform and Artifactory
• Experience working with container and virtualization solutions.
• Basic understanding of installing, maintaining and monitoring Java applications on Linux.
• Knowledge around building maintainable and automated tests with frameworks such as Junit, Mockito and Selenium

We have a dedicated program for newcomers. If you decide to join us, you will first start with our 4 to 6 week Beta program. During this time, you will learn how our platform works and functions. Our experienced engineers will support you in your further learning.

As this role is technical in nature it’s important for us to assess development skills, as part of this application you will be required to submit a coding challenge that should take no more than 2 hours.
