About this job:

• The Position is accountable for developing and implementing an integrated plan and leading external engagement and support strategy of the patients organizations to the diagnosis and treatment in PCS affiliate across all three markets.
• Supports APPCS activities by maintaining external relations with public offices, patient associations, scientific associations, experts in selected fields
• Responsible for identifying opportunities, developing and implementing initiatives with patient organisations in disease areas of strategic importance to the Astellas. Partnering with brand teams, medical and government affairs to prioritise activities, which will make an impact to the lives of patients in the APPCS.
• The role holder will be responsible for driving and delivering corporate communications activities, patients relations/advocacy.
• Develop and implements multi-stakeholder engagement plans for the company’s external partners.
• Develop with the Market Access Team integrated strategies to achieve and maintain access to diagnosis and treatment of the disease in APPCS.
• Acts as the primary contact for APPCS Patient Organizations, maintaining ongoing two-way engagement and building trusted relations.
• Secure patient/patient advocacy group guidance and input into Astellas’ initiatives to facilitate the integration of the patient perspective into activities associated with patient focused medicines development of new therapies
• Collaborates with regional colleagues of patients advocacy to identify opportunities for APPCS involvement in above-country activities, ensuring APPCS requirements are also met.
• Acts as ambassador, bringing the voice of the patient into the organization, developing and executing internal communication activities to raise the awareness and understanding of patient needs within the organization
• Creates PR and PA strategies and tactics for professional audiences. Implements tactics in line with the legal and compliance frameworks.
• Maintain meaningful relationships with key patient organizations and their leadership in areas relevant to Astellas in assigned disease areas
• Providing comprehensive advice to the organization on all aspects of external communications and assists in setting strategic direction.

• Minimum five years of professional experience in equivalent roles within the Pharma/Biotech industry or a PR/PA agency assigned with Pharma/Biotech accounts.
• Confirmed experience in independent project management within a complex environment.
• Proven track record in successfully working with or for patient advocacy organizations and other external parties.
• Knowledge of the external regulatory environment regarding patient and industry interaction
• Strong business knowledge of the pharma/biotech industry
• Pharma sector experience with strong customer focus; in multi-disciplinary, matrix and cross-cultural settings.
• Proven compliance expertise; awareness and understanding of the INFARMA/EFPIA Code of Practice and application of it.

Education/Qualifications:

• University Degree, Master’s Degree in Public Policy, Public Health or Communications will be preferred
• Fluency in the MS environment; Fluency in English.
