Financial Analyst

Working closely with the Financial Controller and the Accounts Assistant, the role focuses on the day to day input and maintenance of the management accounting system and other duties in relation to ensuring the integrity of the accounting system and the efficient day to day running of the business.

Description

  • Day to day oversight of the management accounting system (SAP)to ensure it is up to date, accurate and reflects the financial status of the business.
  • Work closely with the project team and perform project controlling tasks including time sheet recording/reporting.
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register in SAP and related control records offline.
  • Ensure that the Ledgers are kept up to date and all balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations are complete.
  • Report on sales Order Intake, Net Sales and Revenue Recognition.
  • Support the team with additional tasks as required.
  • Perform the assigned month-end closing tasks including accruals and pre-payments and adhering to the strict & tight timelines.
  • Inventory reconciliation and provision calculation.
  • Prepare information for VAT, EC Sales list and Intrastat reporting of Poland branch.
  • Product costing, Variance Analysis, Labour rate calculations to ensure integrity of standard cost data.
  • Support in strengthening the internal control system and process improvements.
  • Provide efficient and effective support to separate Business Units.
  • Support the team with additional tasks as required.
  • Prepare year end management accounts for UK financial reporting purposes, with supporting documentation.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Support the team with additional tasks as required.

Profile

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience including inventory accounting and experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in cost and management accounting, specifically in the areas of product costing
  • Experience in handling material, labour rate and overhead analysis, standard costing vs. actual variances
  • Experience in VAT / statutory return handling, revenue recognition and project controlling
  • Ability to work to tight operating deadlines, especially at month end.
  • Self-motivation, confidentiality and proactivity
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • Calm and positive approach to the pressures of working in a busy finance department.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team.
