GL Accountant with German

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in accounting for legal entities in an European country
  • Very good knowledge of English (at least B2 level)
  • Good knowledge of German (at least B1 level)
  • Experience in month-end closing and independently managing a ledger will be an asset
  • Demonstrated VAT/tax capabilities as well as statutory returns experience in a  multinational environment will be considered as a plus
  • Must be professional and ethical with high integrity
  • Sense of urgency, and an absolute commitment to achieving goals
  • Process-driven and organized, with sufficient flexibility to accommodate ad hoc requests
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Very  good knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP experience
  • SAP experience is a plus
  • HFM reporting systems experience will be considered as a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking primary responsibility of GL Accounting & Financial Reporting services of one of the company entities of the DACH region
  • Managing US GAAP general accounting and local books including the preparation of the month-end closing
  • Ensuring account reconciliations including intercompany balances
  • Preparing periodical finance and tax supplemental reports in coordination with the tax department 
  • Working proactively on the revenue recognition process
  • Payroll bookings
  • Annual Statutory Accounts preparation in coordination with a Team Manager and local consultant
  • Preparing monthly VAT and Intrastat declarations using the ad hoc reporting from ERP
  • Preparing documentation for SOX controls
