EDS Engineering Methods Specialist

You are going to shape the future of Aptiv's through leading involvement in development of  engineering tools, methods and competencies of Aptiv's biggest asset - our people. As EDS engineering methods specialist you are going to work on transformation of problems of today into success of tomorrow by constant improvement of fundaments of our product engineering methods.

Your role:

  • Maintenance of DFMEA and PFMEA templates and data bases

  • Act as an expert in DFMEA and Plato tool questions

  • Prepare/update training materials for product engineering

  • Perform engineering trainings

  • Support  DFMEA sessions for specific projects

  • Lead DFMEA/PFMEA/Control plan alignment meetings

  • Support BOD development and execution with specific focus on DFM related topics

  • Support BOP development

  • Follow up DFMEA progressions, identify and escalate non-compliances

  • Identification and elimination of waste and improvement of efficiency of product design processes

  • Maintenance of engineering templates and formats (FMEA, BOD, Design Review, RQA) to assure incorporation of lessons learnt

  • Support product design lessons learnt development, sharing and usage

Requirements:

  • Technical knowledge of wire harness assemblies and their components

  • Continuous improvement mindset capable of analyzing large and versatile data

  • Knowledge of customer vehicle development systems

  • Practical  knowledge of problem solving tools and techniques like: G8D, Is/Is Not, 5 Why, Ishikawa, Pareto

  • Detailed understanding of design for manufacturability and design for assembly rules for wire harness assemblies

  • Practical knowledge of automotive industry core tools like: FMEA, design review, design validation plan and report, change management

  • Ability to manage multiple urgent tasks simultaneously

  • Structured, analytical approach to the tasks requiring processing of massive and complex data

  • Confidence and communication skills to assist with deployment of engineering routines and building trusted relationship
