Overview

Wood is recruiting for a Health and Safety Advisor to support a AEGIS ASHORE construction project on behalf of the US Government in Redzikowo, Poland. The ideal candidate will be part of the HSE Team and will report directly to the HSE Manager.

This role is suitable for a Health and Safety Advisor who is looking to further develop their career into safety management, in international environment.

Responsibilities will vary dependent on project scope but on AEGIS would typically include:

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the efficiency of Wood and contractors safety programmed
  • Review contractors risk assessments and provide professional advice to ensure hazards are reduced
  • Implement and monitor Wood's Safety Shield strategy that will assist in improving compliance and sustained performance
  • Utilize Wood audit protocols 
  • Assist in gathering data for incorporating in reports in accordance with Wood reporting requirements
  • Conducting project site orientation for new employees,
  • Conducting regarding the health and safety matters,
  • Regular liaison with representatives of the Client and other contractors on site including participation in daily meetings to discuss HSE issues and performance
  • Ensure compliance is followed and take initiative
  • Conduct in-field Safe Behavior Observations including coaching of workers in HSE-initiatives and desired behaviors
  • Foster and maintain a collaborative, high-performing and client-oriented culture of safety and continuous improvement

Fixed term contract 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Polish Recognised Occupational Health and Safety Qualification (essential)
  • Good command of Polish and English language (essential)
  • NEBOSH Certificate as an advantage
  • Previous relevant experience within construction / heavy industry
  • A good standard of written and high level of verbal communication skills including public speaking
  • Demonstrated experience conducting and development of effective Corrective Actions
  • Have excellent administrational skills (i.e. well organized and meticulous)
  • Enjoy working in a team
  • Are result driven
  • Are a self-starter with excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Driving license cat B
