MCIP Engineer

Generate Material Cost Improvement Ideas. This role includes coordination Cost Improvement Workshops across different multi-disciplinary roles as well as different regions for the Aptiv ASUX Product Lines.

Your role:

• Drive Pipeline Conversion Workshops, leading the engineering teams as well as Supply Chain Management, Program Managers, Business Units Directors, Managing Directors to agree on ideas bundles as well as efforts estimations in order to create favorable business plan for ideas implementation.
• Ensure adherence to the Material Cost Improvement Process (MCIP), support training and maintain the process.
• Generation and documentation of Material cost savings ideas.
• Drive hardware design teams to review all ideas within 30 days of creation, ensuring idea database has accurate implementation timing and savings amounts, and is aligned with HW engineering teams on feasibility and application.
• Administrate ideas database, ensuring information is accurate based on Idea Generation Workshops, Idea Conversion Workshops and information from purchasing and Engineering team on effort estimations to calculate savings and implementation dates.
• Identify roadblocks impeding MCIP ideas; provide proper direction in adherence to the process and escalate issues as appropriate.
• Perform benchmark analysis for internal and external similar product, identifying similarities and differences in order to create cost  improvement ideas.

Your background:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Product Design experience preferably in the automotive or electronics industry.
• Program management experience for electronic designs.
• Ability to read schematics, components specifications, do components and designs comparisons and propose improvement ideas.
• Strong focus on interpersonal skills – willingness to develop.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to solve problems – creativity
• Fluency in English.
