Category Buyer
Your role:

Develop and execute Category Purchasing Strategy to create competitive advantage for the Business Unit and ensure both, long term business sustainability as well as annual performance objectives.

Build and manage supplier relationships and effective supply chain partnership

Monitor market conditions for all cost drivers for dedicated category to adapt it in respective purchasing strategy, anticipate repercussions for the business, generate performance or build and implement mitigation plan

Plan, execute and monitor sourcing process for respective portfolio to ensure alignment with key programs requirements and customer milestones

Develop a supplier rationalization plan for the category and identify strategic suppliers on quality, service, technology and price

Negotiate all commercial terms with suppliers to drive year over year material cost improvement to meet/exceed functional objectives

Monitor quality of the suppliers and support the Supplier Development Group with problematic suppliers

Your Background:

Master’s Degree from commercial or/and technical university, mechanical/chemical/technical background preferred
-
5+ years of purchasing experience
-
Experience in purchasing of copper, brass, steel
-
Good knowledge of MS Office
-
Fluent English. German knowledge would be an advantage

Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication skills

High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

Highly motivated / capable of operating with minimal guidance
