Project Manager - Marine Outfitting - Accessibility for Disabilities

The person will be responsible for the preparation and implementation of the projects related with adaptation of existing interiors of passenger ships to comply requirements for accessibility by individuals with disabilities..

The scope depend on the project: modification of wall construction, floors, doors, slopes, railings, furniture, installations, etc.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordination of interior design projects throughout all stages, from input documentation analysis, engineering and design development, project implementation and installation to financial settlement of the project
  • Ship inspections - extensive global travel for work onboard ships and various offices (frequent business trips necessary)
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Management of the engineering and project preparation team
  • Coordination with purchasing and logistics department.
  • Plans, supervises and tracks production of project material
  • Manage the relationship with the client, design office and all stakeholders
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs
  • Fiscal responsibility of assigned projects.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Progress updates to internal company management
  • Works closely with the Estimating Department to develop project proposals

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with the projects related with requirements for accessibility by individuals with disabilities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work. (Architectural, construction or shipbuilding)
  • Design experience
  • Ability to coordinate marine outfitting engineering and construction work
  • Knowledge of AUTO CAD, MS Office, MS Project
  • Good knowledge of English both verbally and written
  • Negotiation skills, Independence, Availability
  • Ability to manage a team and delegate tasks
  • Experience working with time sensitive projects
  • Availability for frequent travel

It's nice if the candidate has:

  • Experience in working on passenger ships
  • Familiar with currently available interior shipbuilding materials IMO etc.
  • Knowledge of vessel regulatory agencies and agreements - ADA SOLAS, MED, USPH
  • Experience in interior design
