DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Our client, an international IT provider of software development, is looking for a DevOps Engieer (AWS) to join the team.

Job Description 

• Create something new: Create a hybrid cloud solution for electric bikes. Work in an agile Team to administer hybrid cloud platform environment (AWS, IoT Cloud), including provisioning and operation of compute instances and other platform services, Kubernetes clusters, security, user and traffic management.  
• Reliable implementation: Be responsible for the deployment and scaling of cloud systems. Automate infrastructure and ensure it is configured and managed in a manner which provides confidence, robustness and can be maintained by developers themselves. 
• Act holistically: Ensure real-time monitoring, logging and tracking of the key metrics and continuous improvement of processes. 
• Take responsibility: Operate and scale cloud infrastructure and product development environments in a secure and speedy manner while working closely with our Software Developers. 
• Experience cooperation: Live an agile mindset with your team and customers to find outstanding digital solutions. 
• Live internationally: Be a part of a multicultural team and collaborate with departments all over the world. 

Qualifications 

• Personality: creative, open-minded und communicative 
• Working Practice: motivated, team-oriented, using agile methods like Scrum and / or Kanban 
• Experience and Knowledge:  

• 5+ years experience as DevOps;  
• deploying and scaling cloud systems;  
• practical experience with creating and managing Kubernetes clusters;  
• good understanding of automation technics and infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, Kops, Helm (or similar technology );  
• AWS (especially EC2, RDS, Elasticache, NoSQL databases, SQL databases);  
• scripting with Python, Shell, Go or similar;  
• deployment pipelines with Jenkins;  
• understanding of public key infrastructures and/or asymmetric cryptography technologies such as SSL, RSA, ECC is a plus 

• Languages: Very good competencies in spoken and written English, German is a plus 

Education: University degree in Engineering, Informatics or a comparable qualification, as well as first working experience
