The opportunity

We are looking for Service Delivery Manager to join our Managed Services practice. Managed Services within EY GDS is primarily responsible for providing the below services to our clients:
  • Assessment and Strategy Planning
  • Service On-boarding
  • Cloud Enablement and DevOps
  • Solution/App Management
In this role, you will be accountable for maintaining end-to-end accountability for customer satisfaction and overall delivery excellence within specific service line or CBS function. You will have the opportunity to lead team of geographically dispersed team to deliver technology projects on time and within budget.  This will include (but not limited to) enabling best in class project teams as well as managing the active Service and retiring the legacy.

Your key responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage end-to-end delivery of engagements/projects to scope, time and budget.
  • Lead and manage high performing teams which deliver technical value.
  • Ensure the running and application of scrum practices and methodologies across the projects in scope.
  • Understanding the pipeline of demand and work with the Resource Planners to ensure an appropriate supply of resources.
  • Ensure that the right type and number of resources that are required to fulfill the planned projects are available and in place through cooperation with Resource Planners.
  • Continuously improving the technical delivery model and strategy, implementing and managing delivery with the associated teams.
  • Report the status of projects in span/scope of control – including any key issues that may impact scope or budget.
  • Helping to define and implement the request, incident, problem and change management process, running the service issues and driving all incidents/problems to conclusion including fixing root cause.
  • Responsible for measuring and tracking of Service Metrics and ensure SLA Adherence.
  • Participation in RFI/RFPs and driving solution creation jointly with EY member firms.
  • Provide input into the organizational strategy with particular focus into opportunities to grow and/or enhance the service offered.
  • Serve as an escalation point for customer concerns if/when they arise and identify appropriate resolution to achieve client satisfaction in timely manner.
  • Design and deliver support and service solutions for Manages Service customers in line with ITIL and/or industry best practice.
  • Understand existing processes and identifying how to improve and streamline them in order to improve team efficiency and effectiveness
  • Enforce standard methodologies, processes and tools and ensure compliance to enterprise architecture, global information security policies and overall firm strategy
  • Facilitate challenging conversations where IT standards and business demands conflict to agree pragmatic solutions

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience working in scaled Agile environments
  • High degree of autonomy, you will not be micromanaged – strong will to pioneer things
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Create an open, honest, accountable and collaborative team environment
  • Good communication and presentation skills. Languages:
    • Fluent English (must)
    • German (would be nice to have)
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Strong Stakeholder Expectation Management

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 10+ years of IT experience with significant expertise in setting up and running of Managed Services (Due Diligence, Service Transition, Steady State Attainment and On-going continuous improvement) in managing post implementation projects with SLA’s
  • Strong knowledge and understanding on ITSM and Service Management frameworks
  • Good business acumen and ability to negotiate with business partners
  • Experience in Cloud Managed Services on at least one cloud platform (Azure, GCP, AWS, SAP) would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of IT Network, Storage and OS management will be added advantage

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline
  • Certification in
    • Project Management – PRINCE2/PMP/CSM
    • ITIL v3/v4
    • Certification on at least one cloud platform [Azure, GCP, AWS] would be beneficial
